Welcome to AVGC

Use of and Access to Intelligentgolf

The Members Sections of AVGC use the propritory golf system, Intelligent Golf (IG), to administer competitions and manage handicaps. The system is sponsored by the Men's Section Committee on behalf of all members using the system. To cover the running costs members are required to pay an annual access fee (currently £5pa per adult member).

To access the system you need to be registered on IG. This will normally occur when you submit for your handicap to be registered at AVGC, either a transfer or an initial set up. You will be advised of your Login (your AVGC member/BRS number) and a 4 digit PIN.

The AVGC partition of the IG website maybe found using the following URL

https://aylesburyvale.intelligentgolf.co.uk

From here you may login with your credentials and access IG.

Touchscreen - In the locker rooms are touchscreens. You may use these to enter/register for competitions, return your competition score, register for a general play rounds.

Mobile App - Many IG facilitites can be accessed via the mobile app. The App is free but additional functions may be purchased for a small fee. You will need to pair any device with the IG website (and any replacement device). Use this link for pairing instructions:-  ig_pairing_instructions

Competitions

All Sections run regular competions. Members book onto competitions via IG. New members will initially need to liasise with the relevant Section Competition Secretary to acquire a tee time as bookings close two weeks in advance of the competition date.

The Club uses the BRS system for its teesheet management. Once the competition draw is conducted on IG, teetimes are assigned on BRS and entrants receive a confirmation email. As the competition date approaches there may be updates, with subsequent emails issued. The BRS time is a guide for competitors and they should be present and prepared to play well before the BRS tee time.

On the day of the competition the tee sheet is actively managed and may necessitate moving competitors forward. Should you miss your tee time you may incur a penalty and there is no guarantee of a later tee time. Should any member experiance difficulties on the day of a competition they should endeavour to contact the Competition Secretary/Organiser/Pro Shop as soon as possible.

As competitions are managed through IG, those using the system need to be registered on IG and have paid the required access fee.

Handicapping

The national body for golf, England Golf (EG) hold and calculate golfers handicaps. The IG system communicates scores conforming for handicap to EG and EG, overnight, returns any handicap revisions to IG. Handicap records may be viewed on both the EG and IG systems.

Should any member wish to hold a handicap, contact the relevant Section Handicap Secretary, who will provide details.

Members do not need to play competitive golf to hold a handicap. Under the World Handicap System (WHS) members may base their handicap on General Play Rounds. As a member of AVGC your subscription to EG is included in your Club subscription. Further, it is not necessary to subscribe to IG (see above) to maintain a handicap, as it is possible to return scores directly through the EG system. However, some social golf (non-competing) members find using the IG system a convenient way of managing their handicap.
